A website is only as effective as the strategy behind it, which is why it is so important to make sure your website marketing is on point. Below are our top 3 ways you can improve your website marketing, and better engage with your users.

1. Post content of value

Users are always looking for things that will benefit them, so give them what they’re looking for.

Position yourself as a thought leader within your industry, providing tips, insights and other free content for your users to engage with, as opposed to just constantly going down the sell, sell, sell route.

You can also take things to the next level by converting this new content into video format for additional engagement across the social media platforms. Its all about spreading your own brand awareness, and video is the best way to do that on social media.

2. Offer downloads

Incentive downloads are a quick and easy way to collect leads. Use the free tips, insights and other free content you’re creating, to entice the users into signing up for additional content, then send this content via email.

You can then continue to drip new content to these users via email, which could result in that user becoming a customer. Just be sure you’re ticking all of the GDPR boxes when capturing a user’s information, so they know exactly what they’re signing up for.

3. Browser notifications

There is a great free tool out there called Subscribers, that sends browser notifications to users letting them know when you have added new content.

You have probably come across sites before that have a small popup box which says “this site would like to send you notifications”, and you can either allow them to or not. It’s this same popup box that your users would receive and if they click “allow”, will be provided with notifications in the bottom right hand corner of their screen, every time you add something new to your site.

Subscribers is a very useful tool to keep that line of communication going with your users, and can be easily added to your own website once you sign up via their website.
